The most important data from portable scanners relates to inventory of files-in-circulation. Files-in-circulation are the most active files in the enterprise, and are the most likely files that will be be required by any number of staff at any point in time.
However, it is also important for an organization to periodically account for all files. File audits illuminate folders that are unaccounted-for so that proactive action can be taken to adjudicate all file locations and custody.
Archives can also be audited at both box levels and/or at individual file folder levels.
